Constructed on the
underframes from withdrawn 2-Nol units, these sets entered service in 1957-8,
some time after the BR versions were built. Nonetheless, they featured Bulleid
style windows, SR motor bogies, and 8' trailer bogies. They worked on all three
divisions, mostly on semi-fast services. From 1976, units were downgraded to all
second-class accommodation and re-classified 2-Sap, being withdrawn in the
1980s/90s. Kit includes formed etched brass body shells, motor coach floors and
bogie centres, whitemetal ends, bogie sides and fittings, and etched rainstrips,
footboards and door fittings.

4-EPB
units 5001-5053 |
£175 |
|
These units were a
development of the Bulleid ‘1946’ 4-Subs, and were introduced
between 1951 and 1954. They worked across all three divisions of the
suburban network, some refurbished units lasting until the 1990s.
This kit depicts
the first units as introduced, and includes Eastern section 9’
wheelbase motor bogies (as provided at construction), additional jumpers
on driving ends, and both short and full-length rainstrips. Includes two
8-bay motor brake seconds, and two 10-bay / compartment trailer seconds.
Units ran in this form until the motor bogies were replaced in the late
1950s.
Kits are a
similar specification to our 4-Sub, namely formed aluminium body shells
and trailer coach floors, formed etched brass motor coach floors,
truss-rod frames, and bogie centres, whitemetal ends, bogie sides and
(though we say it ourselves) excellently detailed underframe fittings,
formed milled brass truss-rods, and etched rainstrips, footboards, door
fittings, and assorted jigs and templates.
Kit requires on
36mm wheelbase Black Beetle with 14mm wheels, trailing wheels, pinpoint
bearings, paints, adhesives etc.

units 5651-5684 |
£90 |

These followed 2-Haps 5601-36
off the production line in 1958/9, again featuring SR underframes and
Bulleid style windows. They were initially intended as replacements for
the 2-Nols on the Waterloo-Weybridge/Windsor services, but could
occasionally be seen elsewhere. From the mid-1970s they became more
dispersed, with some units being refurbished from 1982. The last units
were withdrawn in the 1990s. Kit includes formed aluminium body shells
and trailer coach floors, formed etched motor coach floors and bogie
centres, whitemetal ends, bogie sides and fittings, and etched
rainstrips, footboards and door fittings, together with assorted jigs,
templates and drawings.
